France is a member of the G8 group of leading industrializedcountries; it is ranked as the world’s fifth largest and Europe's second largest economy by nominal GDP, with 32 of the 500 biggest companies of the world in 2012.

The French automotive manufacturing industry is the second largest in the European Union (after Germany) and the fourth largest in the world. The two leading companies on the automotive industry are Renault and the PSA Group (which controls the Peugeot and Citroen brands).

The aerospace industry is a sovereign, high-tech, performing industry, which is essential for the French economy as it creates prosperity for the country and aggrandizes its international reputation. France’s export success is the evidence that its products own the necessary quality and competitiveness, as more than 75 percent of its consolidated incomes are realized through exportation.  Air France-KLM is the result of the merger in 2004 between Air France and KLM. Currently is one of the largest airline company in the world in terms of total operating revenues, and also the largest in the world in terms of international passenger-kilometers

France has always thrived in the fashion forefront.since the seventeenth century, Fashion has been an important industry and cultural export of France. Nowadays Paris is considered the world’s fashion capital, most of top fashions brands have settle down their headquarters in the French capital including  Jean-Paul Gautier, Chanel and Dior among others.
